Thesis Journal Entry Five

7:12 Personal Note- Existential emptiness. Deep Shadows. Smooth White Surface. Oil Colors. Turpentine.

8:00 – On my way out

8:02 – Bumped into that new artist in town; sculptor he says. How are you, he keeps talking, what a creative place, how long have you been here? I am here for an exhibition.

8:13 – I climb through the arched opening into a new room.  Oh there they are.
The group they all keep talking about.
A space of reflections, visions, delights.

8:17 – I keep sitting there. I watch the dance, the piano playing in the background, the keys running along, violins and trambones working wonders, the highs of the strings and lows of the woodwinds coordinated with the dance.
Voices too?  Ahh, those ladies at the back, in that darkened corner, swaying with their microphones. The sounds of an almost classical orchestra.

8:29 – I move along. Lets have chai at the cafeteria, she says, chacha has samosas too today.

8:45 – Keep talking. She keeps talking.

8:55 – Im really drifting now.

9:15 – I decide to stop by my print maker friend. I wonder where hes working today.

9:16 – Do you know where he is? Oh right there, down the stairs, I saw him by the tree this morning, she says.

9:20 – Grand Stairs. Going Down.

9:22 – Djembe freestyle. Booming, Rumbling and Tapping; a pair of sticks striking the tightly stretched membrane.

9:27 – Echoes across this depression in the ground
Sound divides, highlighting the visual connection

9:45 – Filming Crew settled at the steps. Another documentary?

11:03 – Drama performance in the Grand Central

11:26 – Panoramic.
